Volunteer:

IAASA could not operate without the commitment and passion of our volunteers.  In 2009, volunteers contributed 10,293 hours of volunteer service.  At the federal minimum wage rate of $5.25/hour, these hours total $54,038.25 of in-kind service contribution to Aitkin and Itasca Counties.

                                                

Purpose:

At IAASA we work to match your talents and abilities, passion and personal styles with our volunteer opportunites to make the greatest impact in accomplishing our mission. 

 

Opportunites:

• Crisis intervention via Crisis Hotline
• General and medical advocacy through support, options, and resources
• Support group facilitation
• Participate in fundraising activities and events
• Community education through awareness activities and events
• Administrative support for staff and programs
• Board of Directors

Responsibilites:

• Maintain confidentiality of clients and advocates
• Respond to clients in a professional and supportive manner
• Comply with IAASA's philosophy, purposes, procedures, and policies
• Adhere to reporting requirements for clients

 

Requirements:

• Sucessful completion of a 40-hour advocacy training
• Serve on-call at least once time per month
• No history of sexual exploitive behavior
• Commitment to active service for a minimum of one year

 

Financial Support:

Because IAASA receives funding for operation expenses, your contribution directly funds our programs for those who have been effected by sexual violence in Aitkin and Itasca Counties.  That means every dollar you give powerfully impacts the clients we serve and presentations we provide.
