************************************************************************ Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event! On September 1st, IAASA and Advocates for
Family Peace held a joint fundraiser and awareness event called “Walk a
Mile in Her Shoes.” For more information about the Walk a Mile

Many men in our community came out to show their
support and raise funds to prevent rape, sexual violence, and gender
violence.
Men were asked to raise at least $25 to register for
the walk. They were then asked to wear a pair of women’s high heels (or
the closest equivalent they could find) and literally walk for a full
mile in the heels. The last half mile was directly through the center of
town, down highway 2, ending at Central School!
These brave men and many other community supporters
helped raise awareness that sexual violence is not tolerated in Itasca
County! They also raised over $3,000!
Thank you so much to everyone who came out and made the
event such a great success!
